I’m a big fan of yellow. I love all shades. It’s cheery and bold, but not too far out there.
Last summer we did a big overhaul of our exterior- new roof, gutters, and fresh coat of paint. What a difference! When it came to the front door my husband wanted to go with a popular red. I was not on board. I see red doors all day long and I really wanted something more along the lines of my personality. Rarely do we agree on colors, so while at Home Depot, I jokingly showed him this beautiful bright bus yellow paint expecting him to veto it immediately. I don’t know if he was calling my bluff, but he agreed and we brought the can of paint home that day.
I didn’t get to see it until it was applied, but I was in love the moment I saw it. The vibrant pop of yellow against the dark gray exterior sang to every piece of my being. I have gotten so many compliments on my door and I am happy every time I come home to it! Having a door that speaks to my cheerful nature was a fun and easy way to make an improvement to the curb appeal of my house.
