Until November 30th RE/MAX Town Center will be participating in the drive to collect food donations for the Volunteers of America in Western Washington. The food drive is an annual event organized by the Snohomish County Camano Association of Realtors. We have participated in the past and seen great success, but we're looking for this year to be the best one yet! Our goal is to have 100% of our Realtors help by sharing the call for donations within their communities.
Though the signs of the pandemic had been creeping, the shutdown came out of nowhere. I remember I was sitting at Anthony’s in Everett, celebrating my 40th birthday with my dear friend Nina, and my phone kept rattling with notifications. News sites, tags on social media, emails and the like. Throughout the course of that day I saw a huge shift in our life, without much warning, we went from a very active lifestyle- work, sports, school- to a quick pause, sheltering in our home for safety measures.
It occurred to me during a recent conversation that although I am a real estate agent and my profession is about helping people find homes that they love, I have never been attached to any home I’ve lived in during my almost forty years on earth – until now. I could relate to all the logistical aspects of real estate transactions with my clients, but I realize now that I have not truly understood how one can have a deeply rooted connection to a physical building.
I love a good housewarming party. It gives the buyer’s a chance to show off their new home all at once! In typical fashion, guests bring along a gift to congratulate the new homeowners. I don’t know about you, but I am an avid Amazon shopper. Here’s the thing, you can quickly get sucked down the rabbit hole of all the obscure items Amazon has to offer. Here are my top choices that I have saved in a cart for a rainy day and the perfect buyer.
Think of your front door as a statement piece. Painting your front door not only gives your house a “lift,” it also increases curb appeal and it’s the first thing that greets your guests! A pop of color, whether it be subdued or bold, is a sure way to help the pizza delivery guy locate your home.
I am incredibly excited to share that I will be participating in this program! Any home that is sold by me, whether it is a listing or purchase, I will donate a portion of my commission on your behalf to this foundation. You will receive a token of appreciation in the mail afterwards and know that your donation is making a difference for children and families in our local community.
I chose real estate because I needed a job that allowed me to have a flexible schedule so I could be there for my kids. A career that did not require me to miss school events, or to run around frantically for childcare when the kids were sick. Most of all, I didn’t want to miss the milestones. That’s what my life has been full of recently – big milestones resulting in big, big changes!
